BLOG MARKS

Did you know? At a later date, I will ask you to print a blog post (my choice as to which) for a mark. I will pay attention to use of English, publication date (on time) and quality of the development of your ideas. Be sure you give 100% always--not just for a mark, but because you have a duty to be the best teacher you can be. For that, preparation starts today!

Happy thinking!

Geography and war

For your next blog post, share your reaction (in one paragraph) to the text on how geography shapes war. As an added bonus, include some key vocabulary from the text.

Practice for oral interviews next week

Dear Students,

Remember, your oral interviews are just around the corner. To help you prepare, I will post some sample tasks here (and more later). You can do these alone, with a partner or in small groups.

1) What "green" lifestyle trends do you see in Chilean society? Which do you feel will have the greatest impact in the long term? (Lesson 7A)

2) What changes to your lifestyle will you make in the short term to help the planet? (Try to use expressions like "make sense", "make the most", "make a point of..." etc. (Lesson 7B)

3) Role play: Student A) Imagine you are a nurse. Ask your patient how he's feeling so you can brief the doctor. Student B) You are ill and are speaking with a nurse. Describe your symptoms. Be as specific as possible!

Note to students, please remember that we are looking to see an upper intermediate level of oral discourse, so show us EVERYTHING you have learned (incorporate sophisticated words, show precision, use new structures, be tactful, etc.).

And, lastly, be fair to yourself! This means that for YOU to succeed--you have to prepare. Give yourself every opportunity to be successful!!!
